About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP of Operations based in the United States.

The VP of Operations will own the company-wide operating system that translates strategy into coordinated, measurable execution.

Responsibilities
  • Own the company operating rhythm, including leadership meetings, strategic planning, business reviews, and recurring company offsites, translating strategy into clear priorities, decisions, owners, milestones, and measurable actions.
  • Build and maintain company-wide alignment by connecting dependencies across functions, surfacing conflicts and risks early, and helping leadership make informed trade-offs around time, talent, and capital.
  • Establish disciplined intake and prioritization processes for company-level and cross-functional initiatives, working with Finance to define business cases, investment decisions, performance gates, and stop-or-scale criteria.
  • Partner with People and HR on organization design, headcount planning, contractor requirements, and capability planning to ensure resources align with strategic priorities.
  • Maintain visibility into organizational demand, capacity, costs, and competing priorities so leadership can direct resources toward the highest-impact opportunities.
  • Evaluate and improve business tools, data, processes, and operational infrastructure across the organization, establishing clear ownership, standards, adoption practices, and data-quality expectations.
  • Lead operational improvements and automation initiatives while eliminating redundant or low-value tools and processes.
  • Own the company OKR process, maintaining reliable scorecards, dashboards, definitions, ownership, data hygiene, and review cadences.
  • Maintain an initiative-level view of priorities, dependencies, risks, decisions, and expected outcomes, using operational and financial data to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Step in to lead critical cross-functional programs when dedicated ownership is required, ensuring teams remain aligned and execution stays on track.
  • Own an operating budget and vendor portfolio while partnering across functions to strengthen financial discipline and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate executive decisions by translating ambiguity and complex information into concise recommendations, clear choices, and documented next steps.
  • Hold senior stakeholders accountable through influence, strong judgment, and low-ego collaboration, particularly when priorities shift or execution challenges arise.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in business operations, strategy and operations, or a Chief of Staff capacity, including direct partnership with executives in a high-growth technology organization.
  • Demonstrated success building and operating company-wide planning processes, operating cadences, OKRs, and cross-functional execution systems rather than simply managing established processes.
  • Strong understanding of technology business operations, including budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, resource allocation, capacity management, and performance measurement.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and improving business systems and tools across multiple functions, with familiarity with CRM, business intelligence, planning, and collaboration platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Finance, and People/HR.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and aligning organizational demand, capacity, costs, and strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience owning an operating budget and vendor portfolio.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; an MBA is a plus but not required.
  • Venture-backed startup experience is strongly preferred, while familiarity with SaaS, security, or identity technology is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational and execution skills, with the ability to move between high-level strategy and detailed operational follow-through.
  • Strong analytical and financial fluency, with the ability to identify meaningful patterns in operational data and turn insights into decisions or recommendations.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to facilitate decisions, communicate clearly through ambiguity, and document actions and ownership.
  • Strong interpersonal influence and accountability skills, with the confidence to challenge and hold senior peers accountable without formal authority.
  • A proactive, adaptable, high-energy approach and the ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, kindness, integrity, bias for action, and a strong ownership mindset.
Conditions
  • Competitive salary.
  • Meaningful equity ownership.
  • Comprehensive medical benefits.
