Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement new network solutions across our global enterprise environment, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure.
- Develop scalable network designs leveraging advanced routing protocols and ECMP (Equal-Cost Multi-Path) for optimal traffic distribution and redundancy.
- Architect and deploy enterprise-grade load balancing solutions, applying methods such as round-robin, least-connections, and weighted distribution to optimize application delivery and availability.
- Design and enforce firewall security policies, routing instances, and segmentation strategies across Juniper SRX platforms, ensuring a strong and consistent security posture.
- Design and deploy enterprise WiFi solutions including RF planning, site surveys, and WLAN architecture.
- Own network engineering projects end-to-end — from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, and handoff to operations.
- Establish and track project milestones and deliverables under a rigorous change management process.
- Install and configure networking equipment and security systems for new office build-outs globally.
- Lead vendor evaluations and manage vendor relationships for technology procurement and delivery.
- Travel to global sites as needed to support infrastructure builds and major project deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Service Desk, Workplace Experience, Security, Development, Engineering, Project Managers, and vendors to deliver on time and within scope.
- Implement and optimize network monitoring using Elasticsearch for SNMP-based telemetry, providing visibility into device health, interface utilization, and performance trends.
- Leverage SIEM platforms for Syslog aggregation, event correlation, and security alerting, contributing to the organization's overall security posture.
- Report on infrastructure activity logs, performance, availability, operational metrics, alerts, and threats.
- Conduct compliance audits and ensure network configurations align with security frameworks and organizational standards.
- Lead post-mortems and root cause analyses for significant network incidents, implementing systemic improvements.
- Develop and implement automation strategies to reduce manual effort, increase reliability, and accelerate project delivery.
- Champion infrastructure-as-code and network automation practices across the team.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, standardize configurations, and enhance the overall network architecture.
- Contribute regularly to documentation, design guides, and the Knowledge Base to enable team-wide knowledge sharing.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for the Global IT Service Desk on complex wired and WiFi network issues.
- Contribute to day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues alongside the broader infrastructure team.
- Support routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades as part of the team's operational responsibilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Solid working knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, VLANs, VPN, load balancing, traffic shaping, network and firewall best practices, IDS/IPS, firewall filtering, and 802.1x.
- In-depth expertise supporting Juniper SRX firewalls and Juniper EX switching infrastructure in enterprise environments.
- Strong background designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise WiFi solutions.
- Proven project management experience, overseeing initiatives from initiation to completion under a rigorous change management process.
- Skilled in vendor management.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Self-starter with the capability to multitask and prioritize issues based on severity.
- Passionate about automation and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Willingness to travel to global sites as needed.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with Ruckus wireless systems, experience with Okta, Active Directory, and RADIUS, experience with ZScaler, experience with Elasticsearch.
