Job Description
We’re looking for a Data Analyst who is passionate about Wise’s mission of Money Without Borders and who will partner with our global Compliance teams to help us on our journey to Mission Zero!
You will join the Compliance & Internal Audit Analytics team who will develop and own the reporting layer for Compliance activities to give assurance to the Board and our regulators that we are effectively managing the risks we face.
You will do this by partnering very closely with Compliance in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to ensure they can execute against the compliance regulatory reporting schedule, as well as leveraging data to proactively monitor risks. These activities include regulatory reporting - both routine and ad hoc, as well as compliance monitoring and testing.
This is an IC2 role.
Responsibilities
- Partnering with Compliance in providing assurance that 1st line is effectively managing risks, primarily focused in the APAC region, but with the opportunity to partner with other regions when required.
- Help build a world-class Compliance Analytics team that fosters high trust with our customers and external partners.
- Enable self-serve analytics by creating intuitive, scalable data models and tools (e.g. Dashboards), helping stakeholders quickly find the insights they need.
- Drive analytics for regulatory reporting, translating requirements, validating outputs to submissions.
- Working on opportunities where automated Compliance monitoring would be highly impactful.
Requirements
- You're proficient in SQL and comfortable working with relational databases.
- You have knowledge of data modeling fundamentals and ideally some experience designing and implementing data structures.
- You have experience with designing and owning data assets; you can build and maintain complex data sources and can leverage visualisation tools (Looker, Superset, etc) to surface insights.
- You understand the importance of data integrity, quality & governance. You know how to produce comprehensive data documentation.
- You're a clear communicator who can simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical teammates, document assumptions clearly, and influence cross-functional partners across Risk, Compliance, Product, and Engineering.
- You have stakeholder management skills; you know how to collaborate with key partners to get the job done.
- You have a strong sense of ownership and care about doing things the right ways.
- You have 3+ years of analytics experience.
- Bonus: You have an understanding of how analytics can be used within Compliance to provide assurance over the effectiveness of risk management.
- Bonus: You have experience with using data engineering tools (GitHub, Airflow).
