Responsibilities
- Work on core features of the product
- Write connectors to integrate with source systems
- Contribute to feature enhancements and bug fixes
- Understand and fix challenges related to performance and scalability
- Participate periodically in on-call rotation
- Make Fivetran the most reliable and secure component of our customers' data infrastructure
Requirements
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills with 3+ years of professional experience writing code in production
- Experience in reliable distributed systems, with an emphasis on high-volume data management platforms under strict SLAs
- Demonstrated ability to write well-structured and performant code
- Ability to design software solutions that satisfy project requirements
- Expertise in Java, popular Cloud platforms, Cloud-based APIs, and databases
- Can troubleshoot problems with existing code
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Codex)
- Knowledge of observability tools like New Relic/Grafana is a plus
- Bonus: Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or cloud-based platforms
- Bonus: Experience with OAuth, webhooks, or rate-limited third-party APIs
