This position is listed on behalf of a partner company building financial infrastructure for institutional clients.
Responsibilities
Own the design, development, and scaling of backend services for settlements and transfers across fiat, cryptocurrency, and internal ledger systems.
Drive high standards for code quality through code reviews, refactoring, testing, documentation, and involvement throughout the SDLC.
Lead performance and scalability initiatives for critical financial infrastructure, investigating production issues and driving resolutions.
Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and stakeholders to translate product objectives into quarterly technical roadmaps.
Propose and implement architectural improvements that increase engineering velocity, reduce technical debt, and strengthen reliability.
Make and communicate system design decisions, lead technical proposals, and build alignment across engineering teams.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Take ownership of complex backend initiatives from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Requirements
5+ years of backend software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining production services at significant scale.
Professional production experience with Go or a comparable backend language, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and message-based architectures such as Kafka.
Strong system design capabilities and ability to make sound architectural decisions.
Proven track record of resolving quality, performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in distributed systems.
