This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Agentic AI and Clinical Trial Platforms based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams of AI engineers, software quality assurance professionals, and imaging technology specialists responsible for building and improving AI models.
- Develop, refine, and oversee AI models supporting DICOM, video, photo, PDF, and other media redaction, segmentation, interpretation, and processing applications.
- Establish effective processes for AI model development, validation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
- Create and maintain user acceptance testing (UAT) documentation and support rigorous evaluation of AI model performance.
- Assist with deploying AI models into client and organizational technology environments, ensuring solutions are reliable and fit for purpose.
- Own the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and evolution of the AI platform.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across the organization to expand adoption of the AI platform and provide training and technical guidance.
- Serve as the primary Image AI subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and clients, providing expertise on technology, applications, and emerging capabilities.
- Represent the organization at Image AI, clinical technology, and related conferences, industry events, and professional forums.
- Research emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities that could lead to new inventions, product offerings, operational efficiencies, or competitive advantages.
- Establish and uphold departmental standards while ensuring adherence to applicable standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and organizational policies.
- Work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve challenges, and identify opportunities to improve processes and create additional value.
- Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a team-oriented culture while supporting colleagues in achieving shared objectives.
- Maintain current technical and industry knowledge through relevant training, professional development, conferences, and other learning opportunities.
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support organizational and departmental priorities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline or a closely related technical field.
- More than 2 years of demonstrable professional experience working in Image AI or a closely related field.
- Strong technical understanding of AI model development and applications involving medical images and other complex media formats.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams and translate strategic objectives into clear priorities, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Strong motivational and people-leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, leadership, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical initiatives and priorities effectively.
- Goal-oriented approach with strong accountability, problem-solving ability, and sound professional judgment.
- Positive and professional attitude, with the ability to remain adaptable in a changing technology and clinical research environment.
- Ability to establish and enforce technical and departmental standards while following established SOPs and quality processes.
- Willingness to maintain and expand knowledge of AI, imaging technology, clinical trial technology, and related industry developments.
- Comfortable working extensively at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel occasionally, with expected travel of approximately 0–10%.
- Ability to perform work involving minimal physical demands, including occasional lifting of up to approximately 10 lbs.
