This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend based in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and own polished, accessible, performant, and production-ready user-facing features using React and TypeScript.
- Establish and maintain high technical and quality standards for frontend engineering, including through code reviews, architectural decisions, and technical guidance.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to raising the team's technical capabilities, engineering practices, and overall quality bar.
- Use AI and agentic development tools effectively to accelerate delivery, improve productivity, and establish best practices for AI-assisted software development.
- Develop and extend backend services and APIs in Go when required to support frontend experiences.
- Partner closely with business and product stakeholders to define, architect, and deliver new experiences from initial concept through production.
- Contribute to product and engineering roadmaps and help shape broader technical priorities and strategy.
- Create and maintain user-facing technical documentation that supports product understanding and adoption.
- Help strengthen engineering culture by promoting high standards, thoughtful technical decisions, and efficient development practices.
- Troubleshoot and improve application performance, usability, accessibility, reliability, and scalability across production systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep specialization in frontend development.
- Expert-level proficiency with React and TypeScript, combined with a strong understanding of UX, accessibility, performance, and scalable frontend architecture.
- Demonstrated experience using AI and agentic coding tools such as Claude to improve development efficiency and delivery speed.
- Proven technical leadership experience, including setting engineering standards, mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and making significant technical decisions.
- Strong track record of delivering high-quality, production-grade frontend applications at scale.
- Working knowledge of Go, or the ability to become productive with Go quickly, for supporting backend services and APIs.
- Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions based on business and customer needs.
- Strong customer-centric mindset with empathy for users and attention to the overall product experience.
- Experience in fintech, fraud prevention, compliance, risk management, or other regulated environments is preferred.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both informal discussions and formal documentation.
- Exposure to data tooling or data pipelines is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Node.js, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Bigtable, Python, Java, and Terraform is advantageous.
Conditions
- Competitive compensation of CA$160,000–CA$210,000, plus equity opportunities.
