About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Advisory Services based in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent advisory engagements and strategic projects, typically two or more at a time, delivering high-quality, executive-ready outcomes with limited oversight.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into prioritized advisory initiatives that align with business objectives, risk priorities, and measurable value creation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve decision-making, strengthen controls, enhance business performance, and reduce enterprise risk exposure.
  • Assess risks and implications beyond individual projects, incorporating enterprise-wide and program-level perspectives into recommendations.
  • Break down complex business challenges, identify root causes, and develop practical, scalable solutions.
  • Support senior leadership by creating structure around dynamic portfolios of priorities, tracking progress, establishing accountability, and improving execution discipline.
  • Synthesize information across initiatives to deliver clear, actionable insights that support executive decision-making.
  • Identify interdependencies, risks, and trade-offs across projects and escalate issues with appropriate recommendations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment around priorities, resources, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  • Establish consistent approaches for planning, tracking, and communicating initiatives to improve transparency and execution effectiveness.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and other functions to align advisory activities with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and business objectives.
  • Develop forward-looking perspectives on enterprise risk and connect advisory insights to broader organizational opportunities and challenges.
  • Use data, analytics, and experimentation to strengthen risk visibility and improve the quality of business decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and strong engagement.
  • Align team resources with changing priorities and business demands while creating development opportunities and stretch assignments.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to senior leaders, business partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including executive and board-level stakeholders.
  • Manage budgeting and resource planning while ensuring investments align with enterprise priorities and risk considerations.
  • Drive adoption of advisory methodologies, governance standards, operating principles, and quality practices across the function.
  • Champion professional standards, integrity, and leadership behaviors while helping teams navigate ambiguity and organizational change.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Internal Audit, enterprise risk, advisory, strategy, or a closely related strategic leadership function.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with significant enterprise-level impact.
  • Proven ability to support senior leadership priorities, establish execution discipline, and translate strategy into actionable initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capabilities, particularly in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, resources, and multiple concurrent projects or strategic initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management, governance, controls, and advisory practices.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage credibly with senior executives and board-level audiences.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and convert it into concise recommendations, strategic perspectives, and practical action plans.
  • Strong portfolio orchestration and project execution skills, with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and other business functions.
  • Strategic and enterprise-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance risk mitigation, business performance, and organizational priorities.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, talent development, resource allocation, and team motivation.
  • Adaptability and change leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams through evolving priorities and uncertainty.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Conditions
  • Salary: $153,000–$191,300 annually, with individual compensation determined by skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
  • Work arrangement: Remote position within the United States.
