• Partner is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer based in India.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute an API automation strategy aligned with quality objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable API automation frameworks using Java, RestAssured or Karate, and BDD with Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Create automated tests covering API functionality, data integrity, performance, and security.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Use API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, Hoppscotch, or ReadyAPI, applying OWASP security practices.
• Leverage AI models and agents to generate test cases and improve test analysis.
• Manage test cases, catalogs, and results in Xray with traceability in Jira.
• Maintain documentation using Git, Jira, and Confluence or SharePoint.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and architects to identify quality risks early.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and communicate quality metrics.
• Establish QA standards and maintain code coverage of at least 70%.
• Write unit tests using JUnit or TestNG.
• Validate Spring Boot and Spring Cloud microservices and RESTful APIs on Google Cloud Platform with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Verify data quality across MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Troubleshoot using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Contribute to contract testing and performance testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in software development and QA with focus on API automation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and RestAssured; proficiency in Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Experience with Postman, Swagger, Hoppscotch, or ReadyAPI and OWASP security testing.
• Knowledge of building reusable automation frameworks and data-driven tests.
• Familiarity with AI models and configuring AI agents for testing automation.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud microservices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and JUnit or TestNG.
• Strong working knowledge of Jira and Xray.
• Experience with Git and platforms such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab.
• Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Ability to follow secure coding practices and maintain 70% code coverage.
• Experience documenting test plans using Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint.
