This position is listed on behalf of a partner company. Our partner is looking for a Design Engineer II – Gas based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Support the full lifecycle of natural gas distribution and public improvement projects, from initial planning and design through project coordination and construction support.
- Review public improvement and infrastructure plans to ensure designs meet applicable engineering standards, project requirements, and utility guidelines.
- Prepare natural gas distribution engineering designs, layouts, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Develop pipeline routes and evaluate design alternatives to support safe, efficient, and constructible infrastructure solutions.
- Prepare construction estimates and other project-related technical and cost information.
- Collaborate with project engineers, designers, internal teams, municipalities, contractors, and other external stakeholders to coordinate project requirements and resolve issues.
- Provide technical input and support throughout project development, helping maintain project quality, schedules, and deliverables.
- Participate in site visits and field activities in the Dallas–Fort Worth area as required, providing field support and gathering project information.
- Communicate project updates, technical findings, and potential challenges clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Apply sound engineering judgment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, accuracy, and quality.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Ideally 1–3 years of professional experience in natural gas engineering, utility engineering, transportation engineering, or a closely related field.
- Understanding of natural gas distribution systems, utility infrastructure, engineering design principles, and project development processes is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations, interpret technical plans, and develop practical infrastructure design solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to technical detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, municipalities, clients, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet project deadlines, and work effectively with general direction.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for project and site visits.
- Valid driver’s license without restrictions.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including in-person meetings and site visits in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
