Backend Engineer

About the company

• The ClickPipes team builds the services that power data ingestion into ClickHouse Cloud.
• Work at petabyte scale, solving challenges in distributed systems, fault tolerance, and high-throughput ingestion.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve integrations with streaming platforms and object storage, including Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Continuously improve systems based on operational metrics, customer feedback, and evolving business requirements.
• Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions impacting scalability and resilience.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and respond to production incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem.
• Experience designing systems for scalability and fault tolerance, with understanding of concurrency, consistency, and failure recovery.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture and practical experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across teams.
• Plus: experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage.
