Responsibilities
- Work with a team of software engineers, product engineers, and designers dedicated to help users expose their geographic data over the Internet
- Enhance the capabilities of the Feature Services, which expose Geographic features representing real world entities such as roads or wildfire boundaries via a REST API, from inception to delivery
- Design, implement, and test components that make feature services
- Solve complex problems with application design, development, and user experiences
- Create software that is scalable, easy to use, and easy to maintain
- Find, analyze, and fix bugs/performance problems whenever and wherever they occur in the software
- Build and ship quality software by working effectively with members of other software development teams
- Document APIs in an easy to understand manner
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in the job offered, or two (2) years of experience in a related occupation
- Must demonstrate experience in HTTP, REST, JSON, and SQL
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or a related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Scripting or development experience (Python, Java, React)
- DevSecOps tools and pipeline experience
- Experience with Linux (Red Hat/CentOS), databases, web apps, or big data platforms
- Familiarity with Agile environments and tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with NIST SP 800-171 and System Security Engineering (SSE)
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or STEM related field
