Financial Systems Engineer

About the role

• Design, build, and operate the financial systems and integrations that support critical accounting processes across Oracle Fusion Cloud and OpenAI's broader finance technology ecosystem.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable, Revenue Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data, Tax, and other cross-functional teams.
• Requires deep Oracle Financials expertise, strong accounting process knowledge, and an engineering mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the solution design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Oracle Fusion Financials and connected finance platforms.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting to improve processes for equity, payroll, expense accruals, lease accounting, M&A, reconciliations, and month-end/quarter-end close.
• Work with Accounts Payable to deliver transformation initiatives across invoice intake, validation, matching, approvals, accounting, payments, and reporting.
• Design accounting solutions for complex supply chain initiatives across procurement, receiving, inventory, Supply Chain Financial Orchestration, costing, intercompany flows, and logistics.
• Apply cost-accounting knowledge to standard cost, landed cost, purchase price variance, inventory valuation, and COGS.
• Partner with Compute and Infrastructure Accounting to design systems for data-center and compute operations.
• Architect scalable Oracle-integrated solutions for hardware and complex revenue arrangements under ASC 606.
• Architect integrations between Oracle and upstream/downstream systems using REST APIs, events, middleware, and governed data pipelines.
• Design and implement Oracle Financial Accounting Hub solutions from scratch.
• Resolve complex intercompany accounting issues involving foreign exchange, balancing, reconciliations, netting, and settlement.
• Build AI-enabled and agentic finance solutions.
• Create monitoring, exception handling, reconciliation, regression-testing, and control frameworks.
• Triage critical production issues and lead root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in financial systems engineering, ERP, accounting technology, or solution architecture roles.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Financials (General Ledger, Payables, Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, Intercompany, Cash Management, Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting Hub).
• Experience delivering at least two full-cycle Oracle Fusion implementations.
• Strong knowledge of corporate accounting processes.
• Hands-on experience transforming Accounts Payable processes.
• Deep understanding of supply chain accounting and cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606.
• Experience implementing Oracle Financial Accounting Hub from design through production.
• Experience working with enterprise integrations teams.
