This is a fully remote opportunity for a senior software engineer specializing in ServiceNow development and IT Service Management (ITSM). You’ll play a key role in designing, enhancing, and maintaining a business-critical ServiceNow platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, test, and maintain ServiceNow forms, flows, catalog items, workflows, integrations, and custom applications.
- Develop and enhance ServiceNow solutions across ITSM modules while applying platform architecture and development best practices.
- Work with product owners, process owners, developers, Scrum Masters, and platform engineers to translate business and technical requirements into effective solutions.
- Contribute to ServiceNow capabilities involving Now Assist, prompt engineering, agentic AI, and other emerging AI functionality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and sprint activities.
- Apply quality assurance practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and documentation.
- Support ServiceNow platform upgrades, patching, releases, deployments, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable solutions that improve platform performance and stability.
- Promote adherence to established ServiceNow and enterprise development standards, processes, and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively across technical and business teams to ensure solutions are delivered on time and meet defined requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, preferably within an ITSM environment.
- At least 3 years of experience working with prompt engineering, Now Assist, agentic AI, or related AI-enabled ServiceNow capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, modules, configuration options, development practices, and platform capabilities.
- Extensive experience with forms, UI policies, client scripts, business rules, workflows, integrations, catalog items, and custom applications.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days.
- High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a distributed, collaborative team.
- Must be a U.S. person.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM, Certified Application Developer – ITSM, advanced ITSM certifications, and ITIL v4 certification.
Conditions
- Salary range: $97,968–$126,500, depending on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual requirements.
