The role is about:
We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our APM team and help establish and strengthen dedicated QA practices within the team.
Currently, engineers are responsible for testing their own code, which can lead to issues being identified later in the development cycle. This role will help us catch issues earlier, improve release quality, reduce rework, and give engineers more time to focus on building and improving the product.
This is a hands-on, high-impact QA role combining test automation, API and backend testing, debugging, and manual testing when needed.
You will work closely with the APM Gateway engineering team, helping validate new features, understand system behaviour, identify issues, and continuously improve testing practices.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of QA activities, understand systems deeply, and contribute to building a strong quality mindset within the team.
Location: Remote from Poland, Portugal (Contractor arrangement) or Cyprus Onsite (Relocation support provided)
Reporting to: Team Lead
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks using Python (PyTest, Selenium)
- Create and execute test cases based on new feature implementations
- Perform API and backend testing, ensuring correct system behaviour and data integrity
- Conduct manual testing when needed to ensure full test coverage
- Analyse logs and system flows to identify issues and understand root causes
- Identify, document, and track defects with clear evidence and reproduction steps
- Work closely with the APM Gateway engineering team to validate features and system behaviour
- Take ownership of QA activities across the APM environment and help establish effective testing practices
- Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to improve quality and delivery
- Contribute to delivering stable, reliable software in a complex system environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in QA Automation
- Strong hands-on experience with: Python, PyTest, Selenium
- Experience with API and backend testing
- Ability to design and structure clear, maintainable test cases
- Strong debugging skills, including working with logs and system behaviour
- Good understanding of software testing principles and QA processes
- Good communication skills and ability to explain technical topics clearly
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership
Nice to have:
- Experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce platforms
- Understanding of transaction flows or distributed systems
- Exposure to cloud-based environments or microservices architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
