Terabase Energy is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to serve as the long-term technical owner of virtualization, server, storage, backup, and network infrastructure supporting critical SCADA and engineering systems.
Responsibilities
- Own lifecycle management of VMware ESXi/vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V environments
- Design, maintain, and optimize HA clusters (VMware HA/DRS and Hyper-V Failover Clustering)
- Perform hypervisor patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Optimize virtual machine performance and resource allocation
- Maintain standardized templates and configuration governance
- Administer and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication
- Define and maintain RPO/RTO targets for critical systems
- Perform periodic restore validation and disaster recovery testing
- Maintain documented recovery procedures and DR runbooks
- Manage multi-site backup strategies, including full and incremental backups
- Deploy and troubleshoot enterprise networks, including Firewalling, routing, and switching/VLAN architecture
- Support routing fundamentals and firewall rule governance
- Maintain secure IT/OT segmentation design
- Support patch compliance and vulnerability remediation initiatives
- Participate in firewall reviews and security hardening efforts
- Serve as a senior escalation point during infrastructure incidents
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) following outages or service degradation
- Monitor infrastructure performance, storage health, and system capacity
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, SOPs, and documentation
Requirements
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required
- 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience in production environments
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V (Failover Clustering, Live Migration)
- Strong hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
- Strong hands-on experience with Enterprise networking (Firewalling, switching, VLANs, routing fundamentals)
- Experience in managing high-availability production systems
- Experience in Depth of network devices [Firewalls, Routers, Switches]
- Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and network layers
- Experience participating in on-call escalation rotations
- Strong documentation and operational discipline
- Preferred: Experience supporting SCADA, industrial, or regulated environments
- Preferred: Familiarity with NERC CIP or similar compliance frameworks
- Preferred: Experience with SAN/NAS storage technologies
- Preferred: Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
- Preferred: Cloud and Hybrid deployments
- Preferred: Automation Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent
- Preferred: Experience supporting hybrid IT/OT infrastructure
Conditions
- This role offers a base salary of $100,000 – $130,000 (DOE)
- Expected Travel: 10%
