Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire: Manage and mentor a team of multidisciplinary engineers and cross-functional experts to design, develop, and verify cutting-edge SAR spacecraft.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Drive technical excellence: Analyze, model, and optimize the performance of integrated SAR satellite systems, both on the ground and in space.
- Support launch, early operations and commissioning activities, ensuring successful deployment and operation of the spacecraft.
- Perform mission analysis and develop flying rules to support system design.
- Lead initiatives to enhance reliability and performance for on-orbit operations.
- Support customers and program management with mission analysis, system documentation and on-orbit validation and verification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in spacecraft systems engineering or related field.
- Proven track record of leading a team of 3 to 8 R&D engineers directly reporting to you.
- Hands-on experience with satellite systems, RF systems, or remote sensing technologies from concept to operation.
- Strong understanding of spacecraft systems and subsystems (e.g., power, thermal, avionics, propulsion).
- Experience in systems engineering processes, requirements management, and verification methodologies.
- Proficient in tools such as Python and STK.
- Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
- Understanding SAR principles would be a plus.
