Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve enterprise-wide cloud and infrastructure strategies in partnership with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Define and execute technology roadmaps that leverage public cloud, private cloud, virtualization, containerization, and on-premises infrastructure based on business and operational needs.
- Establish architecture standards and best practices for scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure platforms.
- Guide the adoption of cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, and modern platform engineering approaches while ensuring workloads run on the most effective platforms.
- Provide technical leadership for hybrid infrastructure capabilities, including enterprise virtualization platforms and large-scale computing environments.
- Lead and develop multiple Platform and Infrastructure Engineering teams, ensuring effective resource allocation, operational efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
- Drive infrastructure modernization, migration, consolidation, and optimization initiatives while ensuring quality, scalability, and timely delivery.
- Partner with business development teams on technology assessments, due diligence activities, and integration strategies for potential acquisitions.
- Lead incident response and operational excellence initiatives, improving detection, resolution processes, and post-incident learning.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Partner with finance, product, and engineering teams to mature FinOps practices and optimize infrastructure costs across cloud and traditional environments.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions meet security standards, compliance requirements, resilience objectives, and operational expectations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends across cloud computing, automation, infrastructure operations, and platform engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience operating and scaling SaaS solutions across public cloud, private cloud, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- 5+ years of experience leading multiple engineering teams in high-growth, enterprise-scale, or highly regulated environments.
- Extensive experience with AWS or another major cloud provider, including hybrid cloud architectures integrating cloud platforms, virtualization, and on-premises infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Nutanix, Hyper-V, KVM, OpenShift Virtualization, or equivalent platforms.
- Proven experience driving infrastructure transformation initiatives, including modernization, migration, standardization, consolidation, and optimization programs.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including the ability to apply frameworks such as the AWS Well-Architected Framework to technology strategies.
- Experience leading teams using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar automation frameworks.
- Deep experience operating containerized platforms using Kubernetes and managing workloads across cloud and non-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and related operational tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams through talent development, succession planning, and inclusive leadership.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic priorities, operational execution, financial responsibility, and customer outcomes.
- Excellent executive communication, decision-making, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead complex platform operations, 24/7 production environments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Conditions
- Competitive annual base salary range of $230,000 - $240,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
