Responsibilities
Lead and grow two teams: UX (human onboarding and activation) and Agent Platform (agent experience via MCP, CLI, API, SDK, and Blueprints).
Own the roadmap for Render's self-serve user journey, from first touch through activation, monetization, usage expansion, feature adoption, and PQL graduation.
Drive the agent-facing side of the platform: build the API-driven experience that lets agents integrate with and operate on Render.
Partner with product and design partners to align roadmap with customer, growth, and platform needs.
Hire and develop engineers to support planned team growth.
Make key architectural and product decisions.
Build a strong performance management and career development practice.
Requirements
Strong people leadership.
Hands-on enough to review code, prototype, and contribute directly.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, adaptability, and growth mindset.
Proven experience building and scaling more than one team.
Experience managing and developing senior (IC5+) engineers, including hiring and performance management.
Ability to partner closely with product and design.
Strong product instincts connecting engineering investment to growth and activation outcomes.
Nice-to-have: experience building developer- or agent-facing product experiences and integrating with AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude, or Cursor.
Nice-to-have: background in developer platforms or DevTools.
