We are looking for Data Platform Lead to own their end-to-end data infrastructure that should be supporting a new mobile game with the ambition of reaching hundreds of millions of users and processing billions of events every day.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture of the data platform.
- Make, document, and defend key technology decisions, balancing scalability, cost, and team capacity.
- Partner with game, analytics, and marketing leadership to turn business needs into a platform roadmap with clear priorities and SLAs.
- Build core parts of the platform hands-on.
- Hire, mentor and grow the data engineering team.
- Establish engineering practices, review culture, and operational discipline.
Requirements
- 7+ years in Data Engineering, including 2+ years as a tech lead or architect, with a track record of designing data platforms end-to-end.
- Strong architectural judgment, clear design documentation, and the ability to defend decisions in review.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, Kinesis, ECS, Athena etc), and modern data stack tools (dbt).
- Hands-on experience with ETL orchestration (Airflow or similar).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and analytics best practices — schema design, partitioning, versioning, etc.
- Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency in Python and strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
