Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot, owning features from design through production deployment
- Define service boundaries, data models, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements for complex software components
- Develop and maintain payment platforms and integrations with external systems, APIs, and third-party providers
- Ensure application performance, availability, security, and adherence to regulatory and industry standards
- Develop asynchronous processing workflows using Apache Kafka with idempotency, transaction consistency, and reliable message handling
- Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and DevOps engineers
- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and deployment processes
- Write clean, testable code, lead code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Investigate production incidents and conduct root-cause analyses
- Integrate AI coding assistants and LLMs into daily development workflows
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional Java development experience
- Hands-on experience with payment or fintech systems (card issuing, acquiring, transaction processing, authorization, settlement, cross-border payments)
- Strong knowledge of Java 21+ and Spring Boot / Spring Framework for RESTful and event-driven microservices
- Practical experience with Apache Kafka, asynchronous processing, and exactly-once semantics
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Hibernate, and JPA
- Experience designing REST APIs and working with OpenAPI specifications
- Experience with Gradle, Maven, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Helm, and Terraform
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Testing with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers; observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Practical use of AI coding assistants and LLMs
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading code reviews
