Accountabilities
Maintain, support, and continuously improve critical legacy systems developed in C++.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects while ensuring application stability and reliability.
Design, develop, and implement new features based on technical and business requirements.
Analyze system architecture, data structures, and performance to identify bottlenecks and deliver high-performance solutions.
Apply object-oriented programming principles and sound software engineering practices to maintain code quality.
Work with relational databases and data models to support application functionality and data integrity.
Use version control tools, particularly Git, to manage code changes and collaborate effectively.
Partner with the development team to investigate complex technical issues, review solutions, and maintain software quality.
Contribute to the ongoing evolution and maintainability of enterprise software systems.
Requirements
Degree, technology degree, or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in C++ programming and object-oriented programming concepts.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithmic reasoning, and performance analysis.
Advanced knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
Proven experience maintaining and supporting enterprise software applications.
Advanced proficiency with version control tools, particularly Git.
Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on technical solutions.
A proactive, analytical approach to troubleshooting, software maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Nice to have:
Experience with C++ Builder (Embarcadero), Microsoft Visual C++, or GCC.
Programming experience with Python.
Familiarity with Linux environments.
Experience developing or maintaining batch applications.
Knowledge of electrical distribution network models or specialized power network software, such as SINAPgrid, OpenDSS, Cymdist, or ANAREDE.
