This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in South Africa.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to technically challenging offshore and renewable energy projects within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and perform geotechnical analyses for offshore foundation systems, including gravity-based foundations, piled foundations, suction cans, and anchors.
- Assess installation performance and contribute to the development of reliable offshore engineering solutions.
- Support engineering projects through multiple stages, including conceptual design, feasibility studies, FEED, detailed design, and installation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop comprehensive and technically sound solutions for clients.
- Independently investigate and resolve complex geotechnical and engineering problems while contributing effectively within a wider team.
- Review and assess geotechnical and ground investigation data to support engineering decisions and project development.
- Prepare clear and technically accurate reports, presentations, and analysis outputs.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to engineering teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Share specialist knowledge with colleagues and provide mentoring and technical guidance where appropriate.
Requirements
- Professional experience in geotechnical design, site investigation, or a closely related discipline, ideally within offshore energy or renewable energy.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, with a BEng preferred; postgraduate study such as a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of ground investigation, geotechnical engineering principles, and geological processes.
- Demonstrated ability to assess engineering and geotechnical data and perform appropriate analyses.
- Experience producing high-quality technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach complex technical challenges independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability and willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues, and contribute to a technically strong team environment.
- Civil Engineering graduates with relevant offshore data acquisition or related experience may also be considered.

- Competitive salary of £65,000–£85,000.
