The Risk & Analytics team makes crucial decisions that direct Affirm's business strategy, designing and running experiments to decide which product features to launch and which marketing campaigns to fund.
Responsibilities
- Own and prioritize the analytics portfolio for a significant product or business area, defining success, identifying investment opportunities, recommending actions, and measuring impact
- Lead complex analyses that balance growth, credit performance, customer experience, and unit economics
- Translate analytical findings into clear narratives and business cases for leadership
- Design actionable experiments to validate product-market fit and economic viability
- Lead through influence across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Revenue
- Build scalable data models, metrics, dashboards, and AI-assisted analytical workflows
- Mentor analysts and develop reusable analytical practices and tools
Requirements
- General Manager mindset with strong product and credit risk judgment
- Strong understanding of the consumer lending and credit industry, including lending economics, portfolio performance, and credit metrics
- Ability to perform complex analyses and translate results into actionable business recommendations
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- 6+ years of experience in a cross-functional analytical role
- Advanced SQL and Python skills, including statistical analysis, experimental design, and A/B testing
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar assistants
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitatively rigorous field or equivalent practical experience
Conditions
- Remote-first with flexibility built in
- Base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $185,000 - $245,000 per year
- Base pay range (all other U.S. states): $164,000 - $224,000 per year
- Total compensation may include equity rewards, monthly stipends, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage
