About the company
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in India.
Responsibilities
- Translate high-level and sometimes ambiguous requirements into robust system designs, technical solutions, and production-ready implementations.
- Own features and systems throughout their complete lifecycle, from initial development and testing through production deployment, monitoring, and ongoing operations and maintenance.
- Design, build, tune, and operate high-throughput, low-latency services using C++, Go, and Python.
- Develop and optimize production-facing algorithms for tracking, inference, sensor fusion, and other real-time intelligence use cases.
- Use historic and simulated datasets to iterate, test, tune, and rigorously validate algorithms and system behavior before live deployment.
- Design and implement high-performance inter-application communication mechanisms and robust data interfaces for real-time data exchange.
- Optimize data structures, Protobuf serialization, Redis Streams, and related technologies for real-time processing workloads.
- Architect and manage data pipelines covering sensor ingestion, transformation, storage, processing, and downstream delivery.
- Build REST APIs and integrate internal and external services to support reliable platform functionality.
- Implement comprehensive observability across performance-critical applications, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational diagnostics.
- Deploy and operate containerized services on Kubernetes using technologies such as Argo and Helm within GCP environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, system documentation, operational runbooks, and integration specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and clearly communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.
- Contribute to a high-trust engineering culture where initiative, experimentation, collaboration, and strong technical ideas are encouraged.

- Strong proficiency in C++, with demonstrated experience implementing high-performance, low-latency algorithms in production environments.
- Proficiency in Python for prototyping, experimentation, numerical computing, or algorithm development.
- Demonstrated ability to use historic and simulated data to rapidly iterate on algorithms, validate system behavior, and improve production logic.
- Strong understanding of data interfaces, including inter-process communication, high-speed messaging protocols, and strict, reliable interfaces between applications.
- Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system internals, including the ability to reason about computational complexity, memory constraints, and behavior under load.
- Experience building and operating streaming data systems such as Redis Streams, Kafka, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with scientific and numerical Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
- Experience with GCP or comparable cloud infrastructure and services.
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
- Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using modern agentic or AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in transportation, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other sensor-intensive domains is advantageous.
