This position is listed on behalf of a partner company. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager – Salesforce based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering function supporting the Salesforce platform, partnering with product, QA, architecture, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Salesforce software engineers through coaching, feedback, development plans, and career growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain a high-performing engineering team, including participating in recruitment and talent development.
- Own and guide architectural and technical design decisions across the Salesforce ecosystem in collaboration with architects and engineering teams.
- Provide architectural planning, technical direction, and insights for application development and platform expansion.
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering practices that improve application health, maintainability, security, and team capabilities.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other activities that support predictable delivery.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve engineering productivity and software quality through AI-powered tools and methodologies, particularly Salesforce Agentforce capabilities.
- Champion coding standards, engineering best practices, development methodologies, and quality-focused processes.
- Manage engineering resources and priorities effectively to meet project deadlines and broader organizational objectives.
- Support production incident triage and resolution while maintaining clear and proactive communication with business stakeholders.
- Translate business and product requirements into practical technical specifications and scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team culture focused on continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in an engineering leadership or management position.
- Deep hands-on experience leading engineering initiatives within enterprise-scale Salesforce environments.
- Strong experience integrating Salesforce with internal systems, external platforms, custom applications, and third-party solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Salesforce Flows, and the Salesforce metadata model.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits, bulkification, security architecture, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience designing enterprise integrations using REST, SOAP, asynchronous processing, error handling, and retry patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tooling to improve application quality, engineering productivity, and delivery, with experience using Agentforce or comparable Salesforce AI capabilities.
- Strong architectural thinking and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Experience managing production incidents and communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders during high-impact issues.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, prioritization, and team-building skills.
- Experience conducting one-on-one meetings, providing feedback, and supporting individual professional development.
- Preferred experience with Gearset or other enterprise-scale CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
- Experience with large Salesforce org refactoring, managed package coexistence, and multi-team governance models is a plus.
- Experience supporting high-volume service operations, partner ecosystem workflows, or regulated data environments is preferred.
- Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer II, JavaScript Developer I, Integration Architect, or Data Cloud credentials are advantageous.
- Ability to work extended periods at a computer workstation and provide occasional support outside standard working hours for releases and critical issue management.
