Responsibilities
- Define MAITE processes for building sub-assemblies and satellites: integration flows, standard sequences, work packages, test strategy
- Qualify critical assembly, integration and test processes using PFMEA and control plans
- Specify tooling, equipment and workstations needed for each process
- Work with Engineering from concept phase to align design and production constraints (DFM, DFA, DFT)
- Support design and readiness reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR, IRR, TRR)
- Lead and execute structural, mechanical and thermal assembly and integration of satellites
- Own mechanical build standard: torque, preload, locking methods, bonding, composite handling, cleanliness, ESD discipline
- Plan and lead environmental test campaigns: vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, acoustic, EMC
- Design or evaluate test fixtures, derive test levels
- Own mass properties: mass budget, center of gravity, moment of inertia
- Specify, design, procure and validate Mechanical Ground Support Equipment
- Act as technical authority for mechanical and composite parts from suppliers
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical AIT engineering for satellites or similar high-reliability hardware
- Knowledge of assembly, integration and test processes
- Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, and acceptance criteria
- Experience with CAD and structural analysis
- Understanding of composite materials (CFRP panels, honeycomb assemblies, bonded joints)
- Strong problem-solving and hands-on skills
