Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to develop software for specific requirements and technical problems, following Garmin's coding standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features for advanced Android applications
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to improve the development process
- Bring value by actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions
- Utilize development tools for version control, deployment, monitoring, and other instruments used in the software engineering process
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Android Architecture Components, Jetpack Compose, Java/Kotlin, Android Studio, OOP, data structures and algorithms
- 5+ years of experience in Android development
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adaptability to changing priorities, enthusiasm, strong work ethic
- Deep attention to details and ability to work both independently and as a member of a small team
- Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar
- Proficiency in English
Nice to have
- Experience in leading small projects, taking on additional responsibilities, or serving as a point of contact within a team
- Experience with the Bluetooth/BLE stack
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
