Design Engineer

About the company

• Partner company designing electrical control panel systems for industrial equipment including centrifugal blowers, compressors, and process applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and bills of materials.
• Design electrical control panels per customer specifications and industry codes.
• Select electrical and control components including PLCs, VFDs, relays, transformers, circuit protection, instrumentation, communication hardware.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation: wiring schedules, termination drawings, cable schedules, panel arrangements, as-built packages.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL 508A, and internal engineering requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and change management.
• Support manufacturing, testing, commissioning.
• Review designs for safety, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, or related discipline (bachelor's preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience designing industrial control panels and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems: motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, power distribution, electrical protection.
• Working knowledge of NEC and UL 508A.
• Experience with industrial automation and control system integration is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
