Senior Automation Engineer

HelloFresh is a mission-driven company that is growing exponentially year over year. We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to bring technical experience in designing, implementing, and improving Automated Material Handling Systems and Technology within the fulfillment network.

• Interface with external vendors and system integrators to design automated order fulfillment solutions.
• Scope and stay up to date on top industry technology such as AMRs, Robotics, ASRS, sortation systems, etc.
• Lead data analytic efforts for designing Automation and Material Handling Systems.
• Analyze large sets of data and provide clear and actionable insights.
• Optimize Distribution Center layouts, material flows, Automation equipment, etc.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to ensure their business needs are met by new system designs.
• Support business case justification for new technology, CapEx purchases and process enhancements.
• Translate complex technical information into simple documentation and presentations.
• Leverage GenAI to automate time consuming tasks and improve internal processes.

• BS Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field required.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in multi-site industrial distribution, manufacturing, or processing environments preferred.
• 5+ Years experience with SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL) and advanced data visualization tools (Tableau, Grafana, etc.).
• Experience with simulation software (FlexSim, etc.) and MOST modeling.
• Experience with using Warehouse Control Systems (WCS/WES) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and an ability to understand how equipment and systems operate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, professional attitude, and approach.
• Able to travel up to 25%, peaking up to 50% during project implementations.
