About the team
The Conversation Platform team builds a conversation platform for all merchants using Stripe.
Automating easy tasks and assisting users with difficult tasks.
Examples: customizing the Stripe landing page to suggest bespoke integrations, commanding the Stripe API in natural language, resolving user issues automatically.
Developing RAG-based systems on the latest LLMs and fine-tuning own models.
End-to-end team: from ideas to models to shipping in production.
Responsibilities
Driving an ambitious vision for AI/ML that benefits users.
Setting the technical and process direction for the team based on business goals.
Brainstorming and coordinating product integrations with partner teams.
Proposing new ideas and building prototypes.
Being an integral part of a larger ML community internally and externally.
Hiring and developing a world-class team to deliver high-quality ML systems.
Coaching engineers to help them grow and maintain a high bar.
Requirements
At least 4 years of experience managing ML teams.
Experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Scientist, or equivalent IC.
Leading by example in high-growth, high-impact, ambiguous environments.
Experience building and shipping ML systems.
Holding yourself and others to a high bar with production systems.
Thriving in a collaborative cross-functional environment.
Preferred: experience shipping LLM & RAG systems.
Conditions
In-office expectation: at least 50% of the time in the local office per month.
Annual salary range for the primary location: CA$244,100 - CA$366,100.
