Responsibilities
- Own the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and overall accuracy and integrity of financial statements.
- Establish, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and repeatable close processes.
- Lead revenue recognition across multiple healthcare revenue streams, including fee-for-service, PMPM, and value-based arrangements, ensuring consistent documentation and review processes.
- Ensure financial data is accurately reconciled across accounting systems and supporting tools from source through final reporting.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting activities, identify significant variances, and develop reporting and dashboards that provide timely financial visibility.
- Provide financial analysis to support capital investment decisions, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and broader business planning.
- Maintain audit readiness, prepare supporting workpapers and controls, and serve as the primary point of contact for the annual audit.
- Manage the relationship and administration of the third-party payroll provider while ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal accounting and financial-reporting requirements.
- Partner with Finance leadership to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities as the organization scales.
- Build, mentor, and progressively expand the accounting team, establishing efficient processes that reduce reliance on ad hoc work and institutional knowledge.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, communicate financial insights clearly, and contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong command of GAAP accounting and demonstrated experience with financial reporting and revenue recognition across multiple revenue streams.
- Experience in a healthcare environment, ideally including multi-payer models, physician-practice revenue reconciliation, value-based payments, Medicare Advantage, or MSO-PC structures.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, early-stage or high-growth organization where you have both executed accounting activities and built scalable processes.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and financial reporting systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Looker is preferred.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Payroll is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective internal controls, maintain audit readiness, and ensure regulatory and financial-reporting compliance.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to turn financial information into clear, actionable business insights.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of a developing function, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a continuously evolving environment.
- Collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring or developing accounting professionals and building high-performing teams.
- A CPA designation is preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 15% for team meetings and company events.
Conditions
- $140,000–$160,000 annual base salary, commensurate with experience.
