This role will lead the product strategy for fraud and abuse prevention across critical commerce and customer journeys.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for commerce-focused abuse and fraud prevention capabilities, aligning priorities with customer, business, and platform objectives.
- Lead initiatives across account creation and billing workflows, including reducing malicious signups and strengthening controls throughout the abuse lifecycle.
- Evaluate, improve, and scale payment fraud prevention tools and capabilities.
- Partner with engineering, data, sales, and other technical teams to design, launch, measure, and continuously improve risk prevention systems.
- Establish product KPIs covering risk reduction, customer friction, operational reliability, and overall effectiveness of prevention controls.
- Design and support controlled experiments to evaluate the impact of new fraud prevention strategies and product changes.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Sales, Support, and Go-to-Market teams to incorporate policy, operational, and customer considerations into product decisions.
- Monitor evolving abuse patterns, fraud techniques, and attack vectors across billing and account creation surfaces and adapt product controls accordingly.
- Translate complex technical and risk-related tradeoffs into clear, prioritized product requirements for stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other partners to drive cross-functional execution and deliver scalable solutions.
- Contribute to a secure, trustworthy platform experience while balancing fraud prevention objectives with usability and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product, service, project, or program management, software development, product design, or a related field; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of applicable experience, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience owning payment platforms, fraud prevention, trust and safety, or other integrity-focused product areas within a software or digital platform environment.
- 2+ years of experience defining product metrics and running data-informed experiments to improve risk and customer outcomes.
- 2+ years of experience collaborating across organizational boundaries to deliver initiatives involving complex technical challenges.
- Experience with payments, billing systems, subscription lifecycle management, and chargeback or dispute workflows is highly desirable.
- Experience developing scalable risk evaluation, fraud detection, or abuse prevention tools.
- Demonstrated ability to balance customer experience metrics with operational efficiency and risk reduction at scale.
- Experience partnering with policy, legal, compliance, finance, or similar teams to operationalize risk controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into actionable product decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Experience working in distributed or asynchronous environments and collaborating effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools and an interest in using AI to improve product development and delivery cycles.

Conditions
- Base salary range of $124,000–$329,200 USD per year, depending on factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
