About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Marketing based in United States. This is a senior, hands-on marketing leadership role with full ownership of strategy, growth, brand, budget, agencies, team, and results. You will lead marketing for a mission-driven, virtual-first healthcare organization serving people and families affected by neurodegenerative diseases.

Responsibilities
  • Own the marketing function: Set the overall marketing strategy, roadmap, priorities, budget, operating rhythm, and performance objectives, while maintaining focus on initiatives that drive meaningful enrollment and growth.
  • Lead performance marketing: Direct paid search and social programs through agency partners, own customer acquisition cost and lead-quality targets, and scale investment based on measurable funnel performance and defined growth gates.
  • Drive brand strategy and execution: Lead the launch and ongoing evolution of the new brand and website, ensuring compelling, caregiver-first messaging across condition-specific experiences, campaigns, and channels.
  • Build audience and caregiver engagement: Develop deep understanding of patients, caregivers, and family decision-makers, translating those insights into messaging, outreach strategies, lifecycle programs, and structured testing agendas.
  • Strengthen measurement and analytics: Partner with data teams to establish trusted attribution, funnel reporting, and weekly dashboards connecting marketing investment to enrollment and completed visits, turning insights into actionable decisions.
  • Develop the marketing organization: Manage existing marketing resources and external creative/performance partners while progressively building internal capabilities and reducing agency dependence where appropriate.
  • Shape B2B and B2B2C communications: Partner with business development and partnerships teams to develop narrative frameworks, co-marketing initiatives, and communications for health systems, health plans, life sciences organizations, and other strategic audiences.
  • Translate complex healthcare value propositions: Communicate clinical outcomes, care models, and organizational strengths clearly and compellingly across consumer, caregiver, enterprise, partner, and internal audiences.
  • Maintain trust and compliance: Collaborate with clinical leadership and other stakeholders to ensure public-facing content is medically accurate, appropriately reviewed, and supported by appropriate consent, particularly when using patient and caregiver stories.
  • Manage agencies and external partners: Set expectations, evaluate performance, hold partners accountable, and ensure external resources deliver high-quality work aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Establish a high-performing growth cadence: Run regular growth reviews, prioritize experiments, assess channel performance, and create alignment around what is working, what is not, and where resources should be allocated.
  • Deliver near-term transformation: Within the first six months, launch the new brand and website, scale paid acquisition against defined funnel metrics, establish a trusted growth reporting rhythm, onboard the internal team, and develop the following year's marketing plan.
Requirements
  • Marketing experience: 8+ years of marketing experience with substantial DTC or B2B2C healthcare exposure, ideally within a virtual-first healthcare provider or similarly fast-moving healthcare environment.
  • Growth ownership: Demonstrated experience managing paid acquisition budgets with direct accountability for CAC, LTV, lead quality, enrollment, or comparable commercial outcomes, with the ability to clearly explain results and decision-making.
  • Full-stack marketing expertise: Broad experience spanning brand, performance marketing, lifecycle, web, and growth, with deep expertise in at least two of these disciplines.
  • Cross-functional communications: Proven ability to develop communications for B2C, B2B, B2B2C, internal, and patient-facing audiences while adapting messaging to different stakeholders.
  • Agency leadership: Experience managing agencies and external partners, extracting high-quality work from them, setting clear accountability, and knowing when capabilities should be brought in-house.
  • Hands-on execution: Comfortable operating in a lean environment where senior leaders are expected to write briefs, analyze performance data, develop messaging, and personally move important initiatives forward.
  • Data fluency: Strong understanding of funnel metrics, attribution, experimentation, and product analytics; experience with tools such as Mixpanel is valuable.
  • Startup and growth-stage experience: Comfortable working at early- or growth-stage pace, managing ambiguity, prioritizing competing opportunities, and operating with a strong bias toward action.
  • Healthcare audience expertise: Experience marketing to older adults, caregivers, family decision-makers, or patients is preferred.
  • Channel diversification: Experience with offline and emerging channels such as direct mail, CTV, or print is a plus.
  • Healthcare compliance knowledge is a plus.
