About the role
This is Amplitude's first People Team hire in India. You'll join the global People Operations team as a dedicated shared services resource, handling operational work that keeps EMEA and AMER specialists focused on higher-complexity problems.
Responsibilities
- Own shared services and HR helpdesk: resolve Tier 1–2 employee inquiries through our HR ticketing system (Console AI) on behalf of EMEA and AMER regional teams.
- Triage issues that need specialist input—Benefits, Payroll, Legal, or regional People Ops—with clear context and a complete handoff.
- Hit response SLAs consistently and flag patterns in ticket volume to your team lead.
- Keep Workday accurate: process employee lifecycle transactions in Workday on behalf of EMEA and AMER specialists.
- Conduct regular data quality checks and resolve discrepancies in partnership with regional teams and Payroll.
- Follow SOX offboarding controls accurately and on time.
- Support global People Business Partners on request: handle administrative follow-through on PBP requests.
- Assist with new hire onboarding coordination—background checks, IT provisioning, welcome logistics.
- Flag anything requiring compliance, legal, or specialist attention before acting on it yourself.
- Provide People Ops support for any India-specific logistics as Amplitude's presence in the country grows.
- Assist with global employee programs, events, and operational tasks as directed by EMEA and AMER team leads.
- Document the work you're doing to help the team identify what to automate next.
- Participate in piloting AI-assisted People Ops workflows as they're rolled out.
- Share feedback on friction points in the work.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a closely related administrative or analytical role.
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS—Workday preferred, but any enterprise HRIS is a strong signal.
- Experience handling employee inquiries or working in a shared services or helpdesk environment.
- The self-discipline to work independently and remotely.
- Personal accountability: you own your work fully, and when something doesn't go to plan, you surface it and fix it.
- Strong attention to detail in data entry and documentation.
- Clear, professional written communication in English.
- Curiosity about how HR systems and processes work, and interest in how AI is changing what People Ops looks like.
Conditions
- The right to work in India.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR, People Operations, or administrative support role.
- Hands-on HRIS experience (Workday strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with HR administration basics: employment documentation, onboarding/offboarding, leave processing, data privacy.
