  • Establish quality standards, monitor performance, and partner with people managers to address gaps through coaching, process improvements, and accountability.
  • Own reporting frameworks for leadership and executive audiences, including SLA performance, productivity, error rates, case completion, and other operational health metrics.
  • Conduct research on strategic and operational questions and create leadership- and board-ready materials that transform detailed operational information into clear, actionable narratives.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, strategy, business operations, or a comparable role, ideally within legal services, professional services, or a high-growth startup environment.
  • Proven ability to independently lead ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives from problem identification and diagnosis through solution design and implementation.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent initiatives without sacrificing quality or deadlines.
  • Experience developing and maintaining trusted operational reporting frameworks covering SLAs, productivity, quality, error rates, case completion, or similar performance indicators.
  • Experience partnering with product and technical teams to define requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and manage projects through execution.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly develop expertise in unfamiliar or complex subject areas, including California court filing and Service of Process requirements.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, with experience translating complex operational information into concise, compelling materials for senior leaders or boards.
  • Experience coaching or partnering with people managers to improve performance through structure, process optimization, accountability, and direct feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling teams, processes, operations, markets, jurisdictions, or service lines within a growing organization.
  • High autonomy, strong ownership, and a low-ego approach to problem solving, with a willingness to step into areas that may not yet have clear ownership.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-changing environments where priorities and responsibilities evolve significantly as the organization grows.
