This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Epic Cogito Business Analyst - Professional Billing based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an advanced subject matter expert for Epic reporting, analytics, and data visualization, partnering with business and departmental teams to resolve high-priority analytical challenges.
- Analyze customer and business requirements and translate them into complex reporting, analytics, and visualization solutions.
- Build, modify, test, troubleshoot, and implement reporting solutions using Epic's reporting and analytical tools, including relevant data models and platforms.
- Develop meaningful data visualizations that clearly communicate insights, trends, and recommended actions while adhering to enterprise visualization standards.
- Lead the deployment of data visualization solutions at the enterprise level and contribute to the development of consistent reporting practices.
- Gather and document complex business logic and translate organizational metrics into reusable datasets that improve self-service access to data.
- Support data governance initiatives by working with data stewards and data architects to populate, automate, and maintain metadata tables, metrics, reports, dashboards, and related data assets.
- Contribute to new software implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and reporting maintenance, including coding, design, testing, debugging, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate with project leadership to establish milestones, develop key performance indicators, manage priorities, and deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
- Research and develop analytical solutions for existing and emerging organizational needs while identifying opportunities to improve reporting capabilities and data quality.
- Work with training teams to develop job aids, documentation, and training materials addressing reporting and analytical processes.
- Document programs, projects, solutions, and changes and communicate effectively with project leadership, supported teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Collaborate with departmental teams during system upgrades and functional releases to assess impacts and maintain reporting functionality.
- Mentor team members and provide guidance on effective approaches to solving complex reporting and analytics requirements.
- Exercise independent judgment when addressing non-routine problems while coordinating activities across teams without direct supervisory responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, data management, software development, or information technology within a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing data visualizations and reporting solutions in a healthcare setting.
- Epic certifications in Cogito, Clarity, and Caboodle, plus one applicable Epic Data Model certification.
- Expert-level knowledge of Epic's reporting and analytical toolset, with working knowledge of its broader reporting application tools.
- Strong programming, analytical, computational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Significant experience with data quality, data profiling, metadata management, reporting, and data governance.
- Detailed understanding of healthcare and hospital business operations, including the ability to translate business requirements into practical analytics solutions.
- Strong experience designing, testing, debugging, modifying, and implementing reporting and visualization solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple management levels, including Director-level and above.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to synthesize and integrate complex information and convert it into actionable analytical solutions.
- Comfortable working independently under general supervision while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and coordinate the work of others without direct people-management responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, technical teams, business stakeholders, and internal or external customers.
