Responsibilities
- Define and execute the IT and security strategy, roadmap, and operating model aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the transition from outsourced IT services to an internal IT organization, establishing scalable support processes and service standards.
- Oversee identity and access management, device management, employee onboarding/offboarding, and endpoint security operations.
- Build and maintain enterprise security policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Own security tooling and processes, including endpoint detection, monitoring, email security, and application security initiatives.
- Manage compliance programs, including SOC 2 readiness, audit coordination, risk management, and control documentation.
- Maintain enterprise incident response plans, escalation procedures, business continuity strategies, and disaster recovery programs.
- Partner with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership to manage technology risks and support business priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a security and IT operations team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage technology vendors, contracts, renewals, and performance while identifying opportunities for optimization.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience building or transforming internal IT functions, including experience transitioning away from managed service providers.
- Strong operational and security background with the ability to support teams directly when required.
- Extensive knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, particularly SOC 2 and enterprise risk management.
- Experience working within B2B SaaS or technology-driven organizations strongly preferred.
- Expertise with identity and access management platforms such as Okta or Entra.
- Experience managing endpoint management and security technologies, including MDM and EDR solutions.
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with productivity platforms such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Strong understanding of security governance, incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to executives, business teams, and external stakeholders.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to understand how security decisions impact customers, growth, and business operations.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and building processes from the ground up.
Conditions
- Competitive base salary range of $220,000 - $245,000 USD.
