This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AI Developer based in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end AI system architectures, including agent-based systems, and implement their core components in production-ready code.
- Build, test, maintain, and continuously improve retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, including GraphRAG and emerging RAG approaches.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that integrate AI capabilities into practical enterprise workflows.
- Write and maintain Python code while leveraging Azure AI SDKs and cloud-native services.
- Develop AI-powered solutions for document digitization and classification, data vectorization, semantic search, content generation, and summarization.
- Prepare, structure, validate, and maintain training and evaluation datasets with production-quality requirements in mind.
- Contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Take ownership of initiatives from initial concept and experimentation through implementation, deployment, and measurable business impact.
- Help elevate engineering standards across the team through strong technical execution, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing and deploying AI-powered software and production-grade applications, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results.
- Strong hands-on Python development skills and experience building backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of AI system architecture, including RAG, semantic search, vectorization, and agent-based approaches.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and AI services, ideally within an Azure environment.
- Familiarity with data preparation, training datasets, evaluation frameworks, and the operational requirements of production AI systems.
- Ability to translate business or workflow requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to take initiatives from concept through completion without relying solely on direction.
- Comfortable learning and applying emerging AI technologies when they offer practical production value.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute effectively to technical discussions and code reviews.
- Demonstrated leadership through technical execution, mentorship by example, and a commitment to engineering quality.
- Experience with technologies such as React, Next.js, Python, Azure, Minio, Weaviate, Ollama, PostgreSQL, or Redis is valuable.
- Experience with GraphRAG, OmniRAG, or comparable advanced retrieval and AI architectures is an advantage.
Conditions
- Competitive compensation: CA$130,000–CA$160,000, with exact compensation varying based on relevant experience and expertise.
