The Senior Financial Insights Analyst will strengthen financial performance through data-driven analysis and strategic problem-solving in a complex marketplace ecosystem, working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial and transactional data to identify P&L leakage, uncover discrepancies, and implement solutions that improve financial performance and revenue accuracy
- Investigate retailer invoice challenges, determine root causes, and collaborate with retail partners to resolve discrepancies
- Connect, transform, and analyze complex datasets across multiple systems using advanced SQL, Excel or Google Sheets, and Python
- Develop, implement, and maintain AI-powered monitoring systems, automated alerts, and reporting tools
- Build understanding of marketplace data, financial reporting capabilities, invoicing processes, and partner economics
- Translate complex analytical findings into compelling presentations and recommendations using Google Slides or PowerPoint
- Present insights and proposed solutions to internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and retailer partners
- Prioritize high-impact opportunities and break down ambiguous problems into manageable components
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, streamline workflows, and scale analytical processes through automation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Management Consulting within technology, e-commerce, marketplaces, logistics, or retail
- Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to structure, connect, and interpret large datasets
- Advanced SQL skills and experience writing complex queries
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and experience creating visually compelling presentations using PowerPoint or Google Slides
- Experience developing persuasive narratives and translating complex financial analysis into practical recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize analytical efforts based on business impact
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven mindset
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience applying AI solutions to a business domain such as e-commerce, FinTech, or multi-sided marketplaces
- Preferred: familiarity with marketplace economics, retailer or CPG partnerships, merchant POS data, or commercial partner relationships
- Preferred: experience collaborating with Sales or Account Management teams on commercial agreements
- Preferred: previous experience in Investment Banking or Management Consulting
Conditions
- Competitive annual base salary: CAD $126,000–$133,000 for eligible candidates based in Canada
- Eligibility for an initial equity grant and potential annual refresh grants
- Work remotely from eligible Canadian provinces, including Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia
