This role plays a key part in shaping compensation programs that support talent attraction, retention, engagement, and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and administer compensation programs covering base salary, short-term incentives, and sales commissions in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate salary structures, job grades, compensation budgets, guidelines, and related materials.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to provide compensation guidance for new hires, internal transfers, and other pay decisions.
- Evaluate compensation data to support internal equity, market competitiveness, pay equity reviews, and compensation program enhancements.
- Participate in compensation surveys, including preparing submissions, analyzing results, and translating market data into actionable recommendations.
- Compile, validate, and maintain internal and external compensation data, salary structures, job pricing summaries, and market comparison reports.
- Maintain and update job descriptions to ensure accurate content, consistent formatting, and alignment with established job architecture.
- Conduct job evaluations using established frameworks while supporting consistent and equitable compensation practices.
- Research employment and wage-related regulatory developments and summarize relevant updates for stakeholders.
- Provide clear explanations of compensation analysis and recommendations to HR stakeholders and managers.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information and adhere to applicable corporate policies, including those related to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Support additional compensation projects, analyses, reports, and related initiatives as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related field, with 5+ years of compensation experience; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, and administering compensation programs, including salary structures, incentives, commissions, and market pricing.
- Previous government contracting experience is required.
- Intermediate Excel proficiency, including experience with PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, graphs, and charts.
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working with compensation surveys, market data, pay equity analysis, job evaluation, and compensation trends.
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, internal equity, salary structures, and compensation governance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain compensation concepts and analysis to HR stakeholders and managers.
- High integrity and discretion when handling confidential compensation and employee information.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the Service Contract Act is preferred.
- Ability to work at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
Conditions
- Annual salary range of $86,480–$108,100, with placement within the range based on applicable experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
