QA Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Engineer based in India.

• Lead quality assurance activities: Apply strong testing methodologies and QA best practices throughout the software development and release lifecycle, with particular attention to application functionality and release readiness.
• Perform hands-on testing: Conduct primarily manual functional and API testing, as well as integration, regression, smoke, sanity, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate AI-powered applications: Assess AI-enabled functionality, including applications using large language models, and apply appropriate AI model verification and validation approaches.
• Translate requirements into tests: Analyze business and product requirements and develop comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test scenarios that address functional and integration risks.
• Manage defects: Identify, document, track, reproduce, and verify defects throughout the testing lifecycle using appropriate defect-management processes and tools.
• Support release coordination: Work closely with QA leadership to coordinate deliverables, facilitate smooth handoffs, and contribute to successful product releases.
• Collaborate across teams: Partner with QA engineers, product managers, and distributed teams to investigate issues, clarify requirements, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Drive quality improvements: Promote QA best practices, identify opportunities to strengthen testing processes, and contribute to a culture of continuous quality improvement.
• Mentor team members: Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior QA engineers while helping raise overall testing standards.

• Professional experience: 3+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with practical knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC processes, and QA best practices.
• Manual testing expertise: Strong hands-on experience with functional and API testing, including the ability to design effective test scenarios for complex applications.
• AI testing knowledge: Experience working with AI technologies, including LLM-based applications, AI model verification and validation, and testing AI-powered functionality.
• Testing coverage: Experience performing functional, integration, regression, smoke, sanity, and user acceptance testing.
• Test management: Experience creating test cases and test plans from business requirements and using defect/test management platforms such as Jira and Xray.
• Analytical skills: Strong ability to identify defects, investigate issues, assess risks, and determine whether functionality is ready for release.
• Technical knowledge: Familiarity with API testing is essential; knowledge of SQL queries is a plus.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with product, QA, and other technical stakeholders.
• Ownership: Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a distributed environment.
• Leadership: Ability to mentor junior team members and promote quality engineering standards across the team.
• Industry experience: Previous experience in life sciences or healthcare is advantageous.
