This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Platform based in United States.
This is a high-impact technical leadership role responsible for building and evolving the platform foundations that support a growing suite of healthcare applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of the Web Applications Platform team, establishing architectural principles, engineering standards, and a scalable technical roadmap.
- Own and evolve shared platform services, including authentication, authorization, identity, configuration, and other capabilities used across multiple applications.
- Design and maintain reliable build, deployment, and delivery workflows for applications operating in isolated customer environments.
- Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities for platform improvements and deliver solutions that increase developer productivity, reliability, and operational safety.
- Drive cross-team architectural initiatives that create leverage across multiple applications and engineering groups.
- Remain hands-on by writing production code, infrastructure configurations, and technical solutions where needed.
- Break down complex projects, estimate and sequence work, communicate progress, and ensure initiatives are delivered effectively.
- Establish standards and guardrails for the use of AI coding tools, including defining useful development context, security practices, and responsible adoption patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and other technical teams to ensure platform decisions support long-term scalability, security, and compliance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production software in a professional engineering environment.
- Experience working on platform engineering, infrastructure, internal tools, developer tooling, or other developer-facing teams.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Python, Django, and FastAPI.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes and GitOps-based delivery, including technologies such as Helm and ArgoCD.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or operating authentication and authorization systems.
- Strong project management capabilities, including breaking down complex initiatives, estimating effort, sequencing work, and communicating clearly about progress and risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions beyond a single engineering team.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS environments is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Backstage, internal developer portals, service scaffolding, or similar developer productivity tooling is beneficial.
- Knowledge of healthcare technology and standards such as HIPAA, PHI/PII, Epic, Cerner, or SMART on FHIR is advantageous.
- Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Datadog, APM platforms, or comparable infrastructure and observability technologies is a plus.
- Experience building or implementing AI-assisted developer tooling, including MCP servers, coding agents, evaluation frameworks, spec-driven workflows, or shared knowledge systems, is highly desirable.

- Base salary range of $180,000–$200,000 USD.
