Responsibilities
Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its infrastructure, working primarily in Go
Build the platform for universal agent skills: portable format, authoring and publishing tooling, and linting
Set the correctness bar, ensuring skills and tools are backed by evals
Design and deliver integrations that make Elastic available inside third-party AI ecosystems
Contribute to the Elastic CLI to enhance developer efficiency
Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack in Go and Rust
Bring product thinking, holding and defending opinions on what to build and why
Requirements
8+ years of software engineering experience on backend systems, services, or libraries
Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and protocols such as MCP
Significant recent working experience with Go and ideally other languages
Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs
Comfort reading and contributing to codebases in unfamiliar languages
Knowledge of industry best practices in software engineering
Product thinking and strong opinions on what is worth building
Strong focus on usability and developer experience
Comfort with context-switching and a fast-changing space
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work as part of a remote, globally distributed team
Bonus Points
Experience building or operating infrastructure, interest in telemetry and observability
Connection to technical communities through open source, blogs, or talks
Experience working with third-party or partner engineering teams
Prior experience with Elastic products
Conditions
Compensation is in the form of base salary; no variable compensation component
Typical starting salary range: 272,000 Lei — 430,200 Lei RON
