People Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, test and maintain People system automations and integrations across Workato, Google Cloud Platform, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse and GitLab.
• Develop integrations between Workday, Greenhouse, Slack and internal tools using Workday Web Services (WWS) and Slack's API and Bot SDK.
• Write clean, readable automation code in Ruby or a comparable scripting language, stored and versioned in GitLab.
• Monitor integration health, troubleshoot failures and fix root causes.
• Ship changes safely through GitLab CI/CD pipelines, following SOX ITGC standards.
• Use AI tools, LLMs and MCP frameworks daily to accelerate development and prototype AI agents.
• Partner with People Technology Analysts, Information Security, IT and AI Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building automations or integrations, ideally with HR or business systems.
• Experience writing and maintaining code in Ruby or a comparable scripting language (Python, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with Workato or a comparable iPaaS in production.
• Experience with APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP.
• Proficiency with Git for version control and code review.
• AI-forward mindset, using AI tools daily.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate openly.
