Our partner is looking for a Big Data Engineer based in United States.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL and ELT pipelines using Snowflake and AWS as core components of the data platform.
- Build modular and scalable data models with dbt Core, applying Medallion architecture principles across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers to transform raw data into curated business-ready data marts.
- Partner with finance, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand source systems, downstream requirements, and complex financial workflows, translating them into reliable and scalable data solutions.
- Develop reusable, efficient, and maintainable data engineering solutions using advanced SQL and Python for data processing and transformation.
- Establish and enforce data governance and security practices, including role-based access control across pipelines to protect sensitive financial information and support compliance requirements.
- Implement automated data quality testing, observability, and comprehensive documentation to improve reliability and enable safe, trusted data democratization.
- Monitor and optimize cloud and data platform costs by analyzing resource utilization, improving query performance, and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Support financial data integrations across enterprise systems, including current ERP data flows and the planned transition to Workday.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent education, combined with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Extensive experience with Snowflake and proven expertise designing scalable data solutions within AWS environments.
- Strong expertise in dbt Core, Medallion architecture, dimensional modeling, and complex data transformation techniques.
- Experience with finance data modeling and a strong understanding of enterprise ERP systems, with Oracle EBS and/or Workday experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security protocols, and RBAC, particularly when working with sensitive enterprise or financial data.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong Python proficiency for querying, transformation, processing, and automation.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and with implementing CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and automated deployments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- National base salary range of $120,000–$150,000 USD.
